Robbie Francis from Go Swan Filmworks spent another day filming at camp last week, and he’s produced another of his excellent short videos for us.

You may remember the amazing short videos we published last summer. They were produced by Robbie Francis of Go Swan Filmworks, and we’re happy to say he’s back again to work his magic capturing camp life and presenting it beautifully.
The video here (shot a few days ago) is amazing as it relates the details of how our camp days are active and fun, but it’s also an extraordinary peak into the ease and happiness the girls feel here at Rockbrook.
It’s delightfully heartwarming, and I suggest you watch it several times. Enjoy!
Robbie Francis of Go Swan Filmworks worked his magic again this week and produced another short video for us. He spent the day Monday filming, and now we have this wonderful 2-minute slice of life at camp to watch. The video does a great job of depicting the mood of camp… so much action and so many happy girls!
Take a look, and let us know what you think.
This summer we’re again very happy to welcome Robbie Francis of Go Swan Filmworks to help us capture a little bit of camp life and present short videos throughout the summer.
You might recall the fantastic videos he made last summer. They are excellent ways to see how busy we stay at Rockbrook, to hear what camp sounds like, and to sense how happy the girls are. It’s amazing to realize this filming is from one day at camp.
You may want to watch it several times! Enjoy!
If you spent any time watching YouTube in the early Spring of 2013, you probably saw several examples of groups doing the “Harlem Shake.” But, you may not know that the second session girls at Rockbrook made their own version of the video.
You can see the video embedded in this blog post, but here is a photo of the event that is great fun.
Click the photo to expand it, and check out all those amazing costumes! These camp girls know how to have a blast.
See anyone you recognize?
Today was the final day of camp for our 2014 season, and looking back, recalling all the excitement and action of the past 10 weeks, we’re so grateful for the experience. It’s been a truly remarkable summer. We could point to many reasons for this, and while it’s tempting to list accomplishments or the fun special events that populated our weekly calendar, I think the most delightful aspect has been the bonds of friendship we all gained with the wonderful girls, staff members and directors who comprised our camp community. It was the relationships we formed that will keep this summer unforgettable. Here’s how Lucy Maud Montgomery put it.
“All in all, it was a never-to-be-forgotten summer — one of those summers which come seldom into any life, but leave a rich heritage of beautiful memories in their going — one of those summers which, in a fortunate combination of delightful weather, delightful friends and delightful doing, come as near to perfection as anything can come in this world.”
― L.M. Montgomery, Anne’s House of Dreams
Thank you everyone for contributing your enthusiasm and energy, your care and kindness, to our time together. Thank you parents for sending your girls to camp. We will miss you all. We’ll miss laughing and playing together, supporting and encouraging each other. We’ll miss you, friends, but also look forward to next summer when we can be together again.
Emily’s made another short video, this time focusing on some of the fun packed into a single afternoon at Rockbrook. Take a look!
Gymnastics! Drawing! Archery! Riflery! Tennis! Swimming! Climbing! Pottery! Weaving! Dodgeball!
Here’s a little video from our recent trips down the Nantahala. Whitewater rafting adventure at Rockbrook!
The girls in our photography class this summer had fun making short stop motion videos. They would build something out of play-doh and take a series of photographs slightly moving each object in their scene. Stringing these still photographs together creates the illusion of motion. Add a little background music and you have a pretty cool video. Here is a series of final productions from first session. Take a look!
