Riding in the Mountains
Mar 12th, 2008 by RBC
Girls from Florida looking for horse camps often find Rockbrook. In fact, there’s a long tradition of Florida kids coming to the mountains to ride in the summer. Of course, the cooler climate is one reason, but it’s also because Rockbrook is known for its horseback riding program. Amazing horses, excellent instructors, and top notch riding facilities all combine with the main summer camp program to make Rockbrook a popular horse camp choice even in Florida. Besides, it’s really not that far away! Here’s a map to see exactly where we are.

How true–i’m from Venice, Florida and was a Rockbrook girl in the late 70’s & 80’s. The walk to the barn was my favorite part of the day. Smokey and Irish Lace were 2 of the best rides & it was great to see the same horses every summer.
Great memories!
Can you just do horseback riding?
Ellen:
At Rockbrook you get to ride every day of the week, but that’s only one of the four time slots for activties. The rest of the time you pick from the 27 different other activities. RBC is an all around summer camp.
I might do horse back riding next year! Do you ride English or Western?
Phoebe, We ride English at Rockbrook. Check out this page:
