I am a camper turned staff and I’m so excited to be work with some of the best counselors! I have a younger sister who will be attending and I’m super excited to help her and other Rockbrook girls have the best summer ever! I’m ready to read on the hill and swim in the lake again! Can’t wait to see all this summer has in store!

Hi! I’m Ella, and I’m so thrilled to come back for my tenth year at camp!!
I’m from Chapel Hill, North Carolina and am a rising senior in high school. At home, I like playing tennis, painting paint-by-number canvases, and having potluck brunches with my friends.
Camp is truly my favorite place in the world, and I feel so lucky to be part of such a supportive and fun-loving community. I can’t wait to be back in the beautiful mountains again and make so many new friends!

Hi! My name is Sylvia Jean Hemmer (or Sylvie) and this will be my 2nd summer working at Rockbrook! I am so so excited to return and have outdoor adventures with old and new campers. Rockbrook is truly a magical place! I grew up in NC and have family in Brevard so it is super special to me. I go to school in Virginia and run Cross Country for my university. I love all things outdoors and can’t wait to be out on the water! Kayaking is one of my favorite parts of camp and I’m excited to lead campers down the many wonderful rivers that we have near Rockbrook. See you soon!

Hellooooooooooooooo everyone! I’m beyond excited to be returning to Rockbrook this summer. It’s my favourite place on Earth! Rockbrook has been a second home to me since I was 8 years old and it continues to shape me as a person today. There is something unmistakably magical about the short time we get to spend together in the heart of a wooded mountain that leaves me and many others returning year after year. When I’m not at camp, I work as a kids’ therapist in Toronto, Canada, and it was actually my experience as a counselor that illuminated my love for working with youth!

One thing I’ve always loved about Rockbrook’s caring community is that it has a special place for everyone who rolls up the driveway on opening day. Nothing makes me happier than watching campers radiate joy and be their silliest selves in such an uplifting environment. I look forward to meeting you all so soon!

Hey y’all!! My name is Zoe and cannot WAIT to spend another summer in the heart of the wooded mountain! This will be my 3rd year on staff following 5 years as a camper. I was born and raised in Hiram, Georgia and now live in Indiana. After a busy year I am so excited to get back to Rockbrook! When at camp you can almost always find me at the lake jumping off the diving board or enjoying a book in the sun. Rockbrook is one of those special places where everyone is able to be their complete and authentic selves and that is why is keeps pulling me back each year. Can’t wait to make new friends and have an amazing summer!!

Heyy, I’m Emani I am born and raised in Charlotte North Carolina. I am a senior at UNC Greensboro studying Human Development and Family Studies as well as African Diaspora Studies.

This will be my first time attending Rockbrook and I’m so excited. I went to camp once in my life and it was for 3 days but within those days I had such an amazing time and created great memories due to the kids that were around me as well as the camp counselors.

Hi! My name is Lucy and I’m super excited for my first summer at RBC. I’m from Suffolk, England and am currently on a gap year before heading off to Lincoln University to study Psychology. Some of my hobbies include singing, theatre and gymnastics. I’m really looking forward to seeing the beautiful scenery that North Carolina has to offer and hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains. I can’t wait to create new bonds with people and fully immerse myself into camp life!

Hey y’all, I’m Mischa and I’m from a little bit of a lot of places!! I’m coming to camp from my home in sunny Fort Myers Florida but I lived in Asheville NC for 6 years. I am entering my freshman year of college at Florida State University where I will be studying political science and communications on a pre law track. I love kids and I hope to one day be a child welfare lawyer! I stepped away from camp after Covid hit and I am absolutely thrilled to be returning! Rockbrook is genuinely my second home and the mountains have been calling me back.

At camp, you’ll probably find me dancing, playing the ukulele, making a bracelet, or weaving a flower crown on the hill! Camp is so important to me because it is where I have met some of my best friends. My favorite thing about camp life is that it is socially acceptable to wear a tutu and fairy wings to breakfast. Every day is an adventure which is what makes the heart of a wooded mountain so special.

Hey There, Hi There! I’m Susanna from Jacksonville, FL! I first came to RBC in 2015, and I’ve been a Rockbrook girl through and through ever since! I can’t wait for my 9th summer in the magical “Heart of the Wooded Mountain”! Rockbrook is so special to me and as a staff member, I can’t wait to support my campers and make sure they have an amazing camp experience, just like I did! You will probably find me on the Needlecraft porch, soaking up sun on the Hill, or hanging out by the lake!

Growing up in sunny Florida, I was always grateful to escape the summer heat in Brevard, North Carolina. Now, I will get to enjoy NC weather year-round as a college student at UNC Chapel Hill! I am excited to start studying Biology in the fall, possibly with a minor in Chinese or History. I’m excited to participate in science research and choir, attend Football and Basketball games, and make lots of new friends in college!
