Rockbrook 2026

Hi, I’m Ellie! I’m from Bedford Hills, NY, but I go to boarding school in Virginia. This is my first year on staff, and I am super excited to get back to Rockbrook! My favorite things to do at Rockbrook are make potholders, sing camp songs, and try all of the delicious muffin flavors. This year, I hope to bring good vibes and lots of fun to Rockbrook. What draws me to life at camp is the community; everyone is so kind and welcoming. Yayy Camp!

Hey there hi there! My name is Zoe, I am from Hiram, GA, and I cannot wait for my 9th summer at Rockbrook! Growing up camp provided a space for me to be silly, creative, and carefree without any technology. I am forever grateful for those years. I think it is especially important now for campers and counselors alike to have time away from our phones and busy schedules to play outside! When at camp you will probably find me by the lake soaking up sun, going down the slide, and swimming my mermaid laps (so I can get that extra scoop of Dolly’s ice cream!!). I am incredibly excited to get outside this summer, eat many muffins, and make so many new friends!!

Kia ora!! My name is Hayley, I am a kiwi from the beautiful green land of Aotearoa, New Zealand. I come from a lot of rolling hills, where I spend my working days in a cave covered in glow worms!!! I have a big farming background, however I’ve been working in the tourism industry for 2 years now, where I have met so many amazing people from all over the world, and can’t wait to meet so many more!!! I’ve always had a passion for working with kids, my mum and sister are both primary school teachers, however I’ve gone with a more adventurous way about it. Alongside my full time job at Black Water Rafting, I also work at a local lodge where I instruct a lot of outdoor activities, combining my love for nature and the outdoors with my passion for wanting to bring out the confidence in young kids and encourage them to be their true self, as well as letting them get out of their comfort zones and try so many new things. I’m so excited to spend my New Zealand Winter at my new home away from home at Rockbrook and experience the magic I’ve heard so much about!!

Hey there, hi there!!! I am so excited to return for my tenth(!!) summer at RBC. It is such a bittersweet feeling and I’m so thankful I can escape to the Heart of the Wooded Mountain before studying abroad at Oxford this July, then starting my senior year at UGA. When I’m not at camp, I am a student and I work part-time at a cycling studio. At camp, you can usually find me in the lake making progress on my mermaid laps or on a lodge porch working on a friendship bracelet. Looking forward to meeting new friends, sunsets on the junior lodge porch, rainy rest hours, trips to Dolly’s, and fun surprises! See y’all sooo soon!!!!!!

Hi, I’m Margaret Lyle, and I’m so excited to be back at Rockbrook for First Session as Camper Support Specialist! I was a First Session camper for seven summers, from Junior Hill to the High-Up Palace, and I loved every minute of it. Later, I returned as a CIT and counselor for many summers, and after college I spent seven years working full-time at camp as both a Program Director and Director. Over the years, I’ve loved coming back for visits, and most recently I served as a Camp Mom/Aunt during Third Session in 2023 and 2024.

I’ve just completed my 21st school year at Virginia Episcopal School in Lynchburg, VA where I’ve worn many hats, most recently serving as Service Learning and Admission Experience Coordinator. I truly credit Rockbrook with helping me discover my love of working with young people and giving me the skills and confidence to pursue that calling.

One of my favorite things about camp is the magic and silliness of it all — the feeling that you can be anyone, do anything, and completely be yourself. I find joy in life’s little moments, and can’t wait to be a part of the magic that makes Rockbrook so special!

Hey everyone! My name is Kayla and I’m from Sydney, Australia. I just finished my third (and final!) year at Sydney uni, where I studied Medical Science. This is my first summer at Rockbrook and I’m so excited to experience camp life! My favourite memories growing up are all outside, whether that be hiking, swimming, kayaking or just spending time in the sun, which is one of the many reasons I’m excited to be coming to camp. I can’t wait to meet everyone and make amazing memories this summer!

Hello Rockbrook! My name is Nina and this will be my first summer at camp. I grew up on a farm close to the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland. We are blessed with some of the most incredible views in the world and I love being out in the fresh air.
Two of my favourite things are animals and children. Growing up on the farm was brilliant, we have cows, sheep, horses (Lady and Hamish), dogs (Sarah and Bruce) and a little farm cat named Leo.

I lived in Aberdeen for a year and attended Scotland’s Rural and Agricultural collage, where I studied animal care. I now work for the local council and spend my time between childcare nurseries and the local secondary school with the domestic team.
I have always been a huge fan of America – I love the culture, the scenery and the food! Camp has been on my wish list for a few years now and when I met Marston at the Glasgow open day, I knew that Rockbrook was the place for me!

Hi everyone! My name is Cate and this will be 9th summer at Rockbrook, I can’t wait!! I am from Nashville TN and will be starting college this fall at the University of Colorado Boulder majoring in Elementary Education! I love to hike, swim, climb, do crafts, and hangout with all of my amazing friends. This summer at Rockbrook I plan on making tons of friends and eating lots of muffins. My favorite activities are climbing, KIT, and jewelry making, but you can always find me on the hill or by the Rockbrook Lake!!

Hey there, hi there! My name is Josie and this will be my 8th summer at Rockbrook. I cannot wait for this summer and to be running around in the majesty of the heart of the wooded mountain. I am an elementary ed. major in hopes to become a teacher! I grew up in San Francisco, CA but have spent my summers in NC for as long as I can remember. My family is from Atlanta, GA and Durham, NC so the Blue Ridge Mountains have been my second home for as long as I can remember. Camp is such a great place of inclusion and whimsy that keeps drawing me back. I have made some of the best friends of my life at camp and I love seeing a new generation of Rockbrook girls make those same connections. I love working with people and making them happy, and camp is a place where I never feel lonely or sad because of the amazing environment it houses. I cannot wait to meet everyone this summer and make so many new memories!
