Camps for Teens

Here’s a shot from a rock climbing trip up at Castle Rock, the big granite outcropping on the Rockbrook Camp property (literally in our backyard
). It’s just one of the climbing spots we have at camp, and along with all the other outdoor adventure activities offered —backpacking, whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, mountain biking, ropes course, day hiking, whitewater rafting— it’s one way Rockbrook girls “play outside this summer.”



[...] Following our previous post about teen camps, it’s worth pointing out that Rockbrook is sometimes described as a “youth camp” as well. Then when you add “kid’s camp” and “children’s camp,” you realize there are really four different general terms that apply. Between these there are subtle distinctions at best, and with girls attending camp as young as 6 and as old as 16, any of these labels would apply to Rockbrook. Of course, they would apply equally to boys camps as well, but that’s another distinction altogether . [...]
