Even though camp is a very friendly place and is, in fact, designed to support close friendships, it’s still important to take initiative and reach out to those around you. Finding at least one best bud can help ease the stress of camp.
Campers watch EVERYTHING you do and want to be just like you! To them, you are just beyond cool and they look to you for guidance on how to act in and out of camp. If you want happy campers (which for you means more sleep and less stress in the end), watch out for talking about other staff members or campers – even if you think no one is around. Gossip leads to resentment and kills relationships and ripples out far further than most would think.
Brevard, the small town about 4 miles from RBC, is known for its fabulous summer street dances! Residents of Brevard, young and old, come out to have a musical and active summer evening. It’s super-fun and anyone can join in. There’s live ol’ time music and people that actually know what they are doing when it comes to the dancing, happy to help new folks out. It’s a great way to spend a night off in town!
