Howdy! It’s Chrissy again, the Waterfront Supervisor, here to recap all of the great things that happened at Rockbrook on this lovely Monday. We started off the day with our final rotation of activities. Muffin Break was especially tasty today, featuring the popular flavor pumpkin chocolate chip. Yum!
We had many trips that took advantage of the nice weather and went out to many different locations. A kayaking trip paddled on the French Broad River, a group of hikers got to experience the beautiful view at John’s Rock, and a climbing trip headed out to Looking Glass Rock to scale the real rock face.
We also had some outdoor excitement here on the Rockbrook property as girls flew down the zip line this morning. What exciting adventures our Rockbrook girls had, both in and out of camp!
This evening’s Twilight was very special. In preparation for Spirit Fire on Wednesday, counselors fostered the Rockbrook Spirit by practicing the red tie friendship knot with the girls, which we wear with our whities on special occasions. Groups of girls led by knowledgeable counselors walked around camp to explore some of the more historic sites at RBC, including the old water wheel and the Rockbrook House. A few alumnae also helped lead traditional Rockbrook songs, and tell stories of Rockbrook girls through the years.
We hope that this Spirit Twilight helped the girls capture the Rockbrook Spirit and help them look forward to having something to hold onto all year long. It also ensured that Spirit Fire on Wednesday will be very memorable.
