This was a day of reunions, of big hugs and heart-warming greetings between campers and their parents, as we closed our First Session. After waking up early for breakfast, and singing probably to loudest, most energetic of our favorite songs one last time in the dining hall, we gathered up our last few belongings and waited on the hill. Parents began arriving early eager to see their girls and hear their stories of camp. It was a quick process to load trunks, check out with the office folks and nurses, and to sign up for next summer.
It has been a wonderful session, one filled with plenty of silliness and fun, but also invaluable opportunities to learn and to grow. Now after seeing the daily camp photos and reading this blog, and soon marveling at how your girls are literally bubbling with happiness and enthusiasm for camp, I hope you appreciate even more how special Rockbrook is for them. You really have given your girls a great gift, one that can’t easily be reproduced anywhere else. And much more than an ordinary vacation, her camp experience is something that will last.
Thank you, thank you! Thank you for allowing your girls to spend these last weeks with us. We feel honored to nurture and protect the magic of this unique community, and grateful for your trust and confidence as we care for your girls during their stay. We’re looking forward to many more years of the same.
