Frampton looking whimsical

Greetings from the road! Yesterday I visited Sewanee University and two of our great counselors Kathryn Frampton and Katy Kilgore. We had dinner together along with a few of their friends at their favorite hangout “Shenanigans.” Check out out recruiting scheudle tour to see when I’m in your area!

At Rockbrook, there are many components and benefits to being a counselor, but one that struck me in particular was found in these moments I captured. Everyday, many times a day, you see people supporting each other, in the most literal way possible. Your cabin co-counselor will hang with you at dusk to watch the sunset; your activity co-counselor will lend a companionable and friendly shoulder to peek over. Having this support is key to being able to experience these pure moments of existence that are inherent and a beautiful part of camp life.

It looks like I’m not the only one that’s in the traveling mode! Eva Jorgensen-Graham, last year’s Senior Linehead, just emailed me from Venice, where she’s studying abroad with school for a few weeks. Kelly Gross-Bias is getting ready to study abroad in New Zealand and Australia and will be returning in April. Bon Voyage!

Camp Love

Camp Love

Even though camp is a very friendly place and is, in fact, designed to support close friendships, it’s still important to take initiative and reach out to those around you. Finding at least one best bud can help ease the stress of camp.

Everyone can sing at RBC!

Everyone can sing at RBC!

Rockbrook girls love to sing! Mealtimes are filled with songs, clapping and hand motions. The “Hi-ups,” the oldest campers, are the ones that start them. Abby Petrozzi, 2008 counselor, informed me today that she sang a RBC song to her Masters’ in Teaching class! Once a camp counselor, always a camp counselor!
