can we bring ipods for free time?

    • Jeff says:

Yes! Sort of…. Campers can bring iPods to use when they are in their cabin, like during rest hour for example. But they can’t carry them around camp or use them in other places. Plus, we don’t recommend bringing electronic stuff to camp because they can easily get messed up by the often damp climate we have. And finally, there really aren’t any good places to charge up an iPod (no plugs in the cabins). Hope that makes sense!

Hey! For y’all who are going to camp for the first time this year, get excited! Camp is the most amazing place, and everyone is so nice there. The counselors are so nice and funny, and so are the Hi-Ups, and, well, pretty much the whole staff! I can’t tell you how many friends I made, and how much I learned. Just to name one-I learned how to knit!!!! I was BAWLING on the last day of camp, even though it was my first year, I felt like I’d been there all my life. You are going to LOVE IT!!!!!!!! :)

    • Sarah says:

Hey you guys! I’m Kate, and I’m going to RBC for the first time this summer. I’m 13, and I’ll be finishing the 7th grade when summer rolls around. I’m really nervous, and really excited, even though it’d only October(: I’m from Claxton, Tennessee, and my family and I go to North Carolina all the time. Any tips? I’M SO FLIPPING EXCITED!!(:

I’ve been looking at all the videos, saying RBC can change you and here you can be the real you not trying to cover and act cool in school and be the real you. That’s a camp I’m looking for. I’m not really in outdoor type because honestly I’m a Facebook fanatic I’m a texting master and I’m the only girl in the family that knows every T.V channel by heart. But once I looked at this website and say that special note about cell Phones, I read it and I didn’t want to go. I looked at the 18:00 minute video and I knew it wouldn’t matter if I didn’t bring anything. RBC is like a game. Once you play it for a few you’re addicted to it and don’t wanna leave and stay till the next year. Just like for RBC You stay and after you leave you don’t and wanna stay till next year. That’s how I felt and I’m looking at these comments crying very happy saying, This Boston girl is ready for action
I’m not really the best person at fitting in and being the best person. I have ALOT of guy friends, And I give them a hug EVERYDAY.So when I saw RBC was for girls I was about to cry, Leaving my guy friends for like 12 days wasn’t good. (No offense RBC) But I hated it just seeing Just For Girls I hated it, I got off the website. And my dad looked at the history on the coumpter he went on the website ( rockbrookcamp.com) And he looked at Just For Girls sign and also horse back riding pottery and gymnastics. He told me to look at this website and do some history to see what it was about. Then I say rockbrookcamp.com and I was about to X out of it. He was looking and smiling at me so I went back to the computer and did some research I ended up spending 1 hour looking at the website. I Loved RBC after that saying to myself. I don’t NEED cellphones, Laptops, T.V’s to make me, me. I found out that a real girl needs happiness and wilderness and more. So everyday I look at that clock and seeing how many days waiting till Rockbrook camp is coming.
    P.S Where is RBC anyway
    Haha
Love the new Rockbrook Camp Girl,
    Teen U. :)

Rockbrook is in Brevard North Carolina. And Hi I’m Sarah this will be my first year at Rockbrook also I’m going to the August mini session. I have been going to that area of North Carolina since I was 9 months old. And when I was 8 and my brother began at a sleep away camp I was beside myself and have been begging my parents to let me go to Rockbrook for 6 years now. Every summer we have passed by the camp entrance and I sigh saying to myself ‘next year Sarah hopefully next year’ and boy was I excited when I found out this year has finally come :) although I’m starting a bit late at the age of 14 I sill am ecstatic and can’t wait for camp

Any suggestions on what I should pack and what to expect at camp? I’m really excited for next summer but everyone says 8th grade flys by so it’ll be over before I know it!!!! Anyone else going from Florida?

  7. MM says:

Ahhh!! I’m so excited I leave for camp in 2 days!!! I’ve been counting how many days are left and I don’t think I can wait 2 more days!!!

  8. Susan Duncan says:

Our daughter went to Rockbrook and now her daughter has been to Rockbrook. We were so impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the networking throughout the Rockbrook community. Jerry Stone came to our home in Florida on a recruiting mission and brought a piece of pottery that our daughter had made the summer before. It’s that attention to detail that makes Rockbrook so special.

  13. G Fisch says:

I love Rockbrook and can’t wait to go back for my third year!

Rockbrook has definetely changed me as a person in the most amazing way possible.

I’ve gone thorugh a lot of tought times, with moving around the country and transferring schools, my family can never stay in one place. I felt like I was being forced to grow up too fast.

Rockbrook gave me a home and safe haven that I can always count on and look forward to. Camp still helps me grow up and adapt to change.

I swear to keep coming back year after year after year. Whenever something bad or challenging happens, I always know that I can go back to RBC where you find real magic.
