Friends at Kids Camp
by rbc
Summer Camp is a place where girls make some of their very best friends, the kind of friends that understand you and like you for who you really are. Away from the confines of home and the expectations of school, girls at camp are free to explore, to build real relationships, and live beyond their current patterns. The nurturing and encouragement of the summer camp community fuels this development, and as girls find themselves enjoying the people around them, they experience and practice what it means to be a good friend to others. Of course, some of this can happen in other contexts, but kids summer camps provide a special balance of community and independence that is uniquely suited for girls to grow, to nurture the habits and values that foster friendship. It’s really no surprise girls say their camp friends truly are their best friends.

Oh, Rockbrook you have given
What none can ere destroy
Ideals to guide our lives by
And friends to bring us joy…
Mamie,
AT camp you are in the same cabin as a bunch of friends- you do fun activities with them, and all day you do nothing but have fun! It really does make it easier to make a lot of really close friends. AT school it is not as easy because you are taking tests, and trying hard to do well. At camp you aren’t all stressed out.
I have made better friends in 2 weeks at camp than I have in 3 school years at home. I really think it is because you live with the other people, so it’s hard to hide who you really are from people.
It’s so true! my camp friends are so special. i always cant wait to see them again.
