Sleep Away Camp Girls
by rbc
When you ask people who attended a sleep away camp when they were a kid, you’ll find that they recall the experience, not only fondly, but also as one of the most important things they did as a child. A famous example here is Michael Eisner and his book about camp. There’s a lot to it, and we’ve discussed the benefits of attending camp before, but this photo speaks to the empowerment and self confidence girls often develop at summer camp. Being away from home and parents, being challenged and succeeding in different activities, and being friends with so many different types of people— all weave together to give camp its secret power.

Check out what others are saying about this post...[...] Camp was a respite, an antidote many parents understood as valuable. We’ve discussed this before, but certainly the same can be said [...]

I Have some question can you pleas answer these. Where is the camp? How much is it? What City/State/ is it located in? What are the activities and if you want can you do Gymnastics all day? Please answer these question. And how much does it cost for 4 weeks?
Hi Clayton,
Be sure to poke around the web site. Most of these questions are answered there. For example, we’re located in Brevard, North Carolina and the registration info is here:

Gymnastics is one of our activities, but you take four different things each day, in addition to some free time for swimming, hanging out, etc.
Hope that helps!
Lindsay,
Check out the registration page on the main rbc site;

). No, we don’t stay up all night because there is so much to do during the day, we need the sleep. And yes, we do have gymnastics too!
is it fun, do we do talent shows, can we play all night, can we do gymnastics?
Shay,
Everyone at camp sleeps in wooden cabins. They have screens around the windows, bunks, and room for 8 campers and 2 counselors.
