We were so happy to learn of the recent nuptials of Rockbrook alumna Kristin Abele. Kristin and her husband James were married on January 14th in Key Biscayne, Florida. A mini Rockbrook reunion took place as Kristin’s sisters Lauren and Madi (both former campers), as well as Anne Romatowski and Kelley Hubbell were in attendance. Kelley, Anne and Lauren were even able to come to Florida a week early for a some fun adventures before the big event. Kristin reported that lots of camp songs were shared that week, even at the wedding. We love that Rockbrook spirit! Kristin even mentioned that many of the wedding guests could instantly recognize the special bond that all RBC girls share!
Here is an update from Kristin herself:
“As an update for me…aside from getting married…I started my own business, with my husband in fact. We own and operate The Found Gen, which is a story/scripting group based in Miami that offers writing and editing services with an emphasis on marketing to businesses–we write copy for websites, blogs, newsletters, email marketing campaigns, proposals, marketing presentations, film scripts, commercial scripts, keynote speeches and more–and now after our wedding, we’ve even started getting requests for wedding ceremonies now! And, I completed my first novel last year and now that the wedding has come and gone–i’m aiming to edit it and send it out to be published this Spring.”
Congratulations Kristin and James! We are so happy for you both.
Simple Gifts

During this time of Thanksgiving, we here at Rockbrook wanted to take a moment and share some of the things that we are thankful for. Camp life reminds us to be thankful for the simple gifts and joys that surround us everyday and make life so special. Here are some of our highlights: the sound of gravel crunching as we walk down the line, a warm muffin, the chill of the camp lake, a homeade s’more roasted over a campfire, listening to a friend share a joke, a warm camp bed on a chilly morning, singing at the top of your lungs, that first bite of Dolly’s ice cream, a sunny afternoon on the hill, laughing during evening program over a funny skit and the sweet smell of camp after the rain. Thank you Rockbrook for all of your gifts! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Our friends from Camp Carolina dropped by the office the other day with a wonderful gift- a Rockbrook Camp record! These records were made in the 60′s and 70′s and were mailed out with the Rockbrook Catalog. It features 11 popular camp songs of the era. All of the voices on the record are the winners of the old song contest. We still sing most of these songs at camp today!
To listen to some current camp songs visit the song section of our website. Have fun singing along!

We were so excited to see former Rockbrook counselor and Junior Line Head extraordinaire Christy Middleton Buchanan when she stopped by the RBC office last week. She came by to introduce us to her sweet baby girl Mirabelle! Mirabelle was born July 1, 2010. She is absolutely adorable and already has been introduced to all of the Rockbrook songs! We wonder what her favorite song is?
Christy says that she is already counting down the days until Mirabelle can be a Rockbrook camper! Summer 2018 will be here before you know it! We will be waiting Mirabelle!
